Photographic Safaris - Zambia

Photographic Safaris led by Paul Southall

Owl Eye - DCZ Photography

Our partner Paul Southall at DCZ Photography takes small groups on dedicated photographic tours to some of Africa's most famous wildlife destinations featured on our website.

We offer small group exclusivity, not filling a safari vehicle with more than 6 - 8 photographers.

The value of being in a small group has great advantages. You will spend one-to-one tuition time with your professional photographer Paul Southall and a professional guide, who will lead you through the wildlife tracks. This will enable you to spend quality time with the wildlife and have plenty of space for equipment and guaranteed access to both sides of the safari vehicle.

Paul’s main focus on these tours is to assist you with your photography. He will demonstrate how to take full control of your camera so that every aspect of every photo has been considered before the shutter button is pressed. Being patient and deliberate as a photographer is essential in improving the quality of your images.

Our safaris are enjoyed by people with a strong interest in both photography and wildlife. All levels are welcome from beginners to advanced photographers. This is an opportunity to learn, share and spend time with like-minded people practicing their art.

Comfortable en-suite accommodation providing recharging facilities is standard on all our photographic safaris.
Picnics and packed meals enable us to maximize time in the field. Buffet style, a-la-carte or room service meals can be enjoyed at the select lodge or camp either in the main restaurant or the outdoors.

Contact us or Paul for a special and productive photographic adventure - capturing all your wildlife encounters and special moments on photo, while you allow us to take care of your special safari!

Any one of our featured lodges with the appropriate facilities will be able to cater for your wildlife photographic needs.
However, we have outlined below a scheduled photographic safari with one of our accommodation providers.

Chongwe & Kasaka Photographic Safari

7 Day Photographic Safari
Lower Zambezi – Zambia

The Lower Zambezi National Park remains uninhabited and unadulterated. It’s not unusual to wake up to an elephant or hippo just outside your chalet or tent!
The park is fronted by the waters of the Zambezi River, allowing for water-based and land-based safaris - a haven for naturalists and wild life photographers.
The river is renowned for its two great attractions, Lake Kariba and the majestic Victoria Falls. Hence canoeing is a popular feature and gives a chance to get up close with crocodile, hippo and elephant – in a low-impact way.
Enjoy fishing expeditions with the opportunity to catch “the big one”.

Buffalo and waterbuck are common amongst a profusion of birdlife. The park also hosts good populations of lion, leopard and listen out for the frequent cry of the fish eagle.
Traditional game drives and walking safaris are the cornerstone of any safari experience and these are delivered at the highest standards.
